Electra races fast electric model power boats on lakes throughout the South East. At each
regatta, in the Summer racing season, class winners are awarded trophies and all competitors earn points
towards the annual drivers championship.
Racing is fast and furious with lap times as low as 11 seconds. Modern batteries and motors
give a performance that cannot be matched by IC powered boats. Which is why an
electrically powered boat has held the world speed record for an R/C model boat for a
number of years.
We race a number of different classes covering submerged drive, surface drive and
hydroplanes.
Most of our members are active members of their local clubs. While we would always
encourage membership of a local club this is not essential.
Electra is the longest established fast electric model boat club in the UK. Affiliated to the
Model Power Boat Association (MPBA) which is affiliated to Naviga. We race at local,
national, international and world level.
We welcome interest from beginners through to experienced racers. If you need a hand
getting started our members will be happy to help. Come along and enjoy a days racing with us
